Guidance From Yusef: Portal Opening II

Barbara:

I have been asked if there are suggestions for those who would like to begin to look more deeply at what keeps them from inner peace and real happiness—in other words, Soul growth. I offer this today.

Many of us have avoided looking deeply at our lives because it’s too hard, too much work, or too painful. But this is the chance to step up to do the inner work and have lots of heavenly help as we do it.

There are many ways to begin, and there are also programs and teachers who can offer guidance. For me the surest way is to first agree to look at the barriers I hold that prevent my loving ‘better’. The Universe “hears” that, and then the challenges begin. 🙂 Whatever is in the way of happiness and union with God will surface—sometimes with a scary vengeance. The key is to recognize this as an opportunity from God to make the necessary changes in our lives. It is not for the faint of heart and it does take courage. We like to think that we are just fine—that it’s everyone else in the world who is wrong. 🙂 Read on….

God is delighted to ‘help’ us by presenting us with situation after situation that will “push our buttons” until we wake up and notice what we are doing. Now, once something shows up—anger for example, the idea is to step back, look at what is happening, and ask yourself, “Why am I reacting with anger to this?” “What in me is resisting this?” “What in me feels out of control here?”

At first it’s difficult to step back in that moment. Because over the years we have developed automatic responses that now seem normal to us. It takes practice to notice that anger and be able to step back to look at it. LOTS of practice. It seems like ‘it’s’ a part of us and can’t be changed…but it can.

We have likely BLAMED others for our reactions—parents, spouse, co-worker, ancestry, lack of money, lack of time, etc. etc. It’s not MY fault that they MAKE me so angry! 🙂

Well, no one is at fault. No one makes us do anything. It may be hard to believe at first, but we choose our reactions to every situation in our lives—every situation. Begin to notice that.

In order to let go of anger for instance, I must OWN that reaction. My anger is all mine. I am choosing to react in anger to that person or that situation. I can choose to respond in a different way.  In fact, another person may choose a completely different response to the same situation.

The cause or reasons for our reactions ALWAYS come from inside us. Ouch! When we can look more deeply at WHY we are reacting—in anger, or in controlling ways, or by retreating from the situation, or in any way other than love—then we are getting to the root causes we carry within us and we can begin to change.

Did I mention this takes practice? 🙂 So don’t lose heart—God is with you, and your Angels are cheering you on. It is also most helpful to journey with a trusted friend or friends so that you can talk together about what is changing in your lives.

Blessings as you go and grow!

Guidance From Yusef: A Portal Opening

Barbara:

There is an opening from the Heavens at this time (a portal) that offers us all Grace, encouragement, and help for our personal Soul growth. That’s the REALLY good news. When God offers all the heaven’s help to us it is an extraordinary gift.

The maybe not-so-great news is that in order to take advantage of this opportunity we need to look at the barriers we have put up to God. You know, the parts of ourselves that we deny, or hide, or ignore so that we don’t have to face them. Things such as jealousy, greed, dishonesty, lack of forgiveness, self-centeredness, lack of trust, possessiveness, anger, prejudice, etc. Or the part of us that believes we are not worthy to be loved by God.

We are being offered the opportunity and the help to face our faults, heal old wounds, let go of judgment, move from criticism to compassion, make adjustments to our thinking and our actions, and change what no longer benefits our Souls.

This is a new beginning, a recalculating, a redirecting of our lives in order to move closer to God. It is an opportunity to pay attention to what our Souls need.

Actually if you choose to accept this mission…it may be the hardest work you’ve ever done because it involves facing the parts of yourself that aren’t so pretty, and acknowledging that they really are a part of you. It’s forgiving yourself, and allowing those barriers to come down so that you can move on to be the BEST VERSION of YOURSELF.

No one knows how long this portal of GRACE will be open. I’ve missed some portals in my life, so if you want to move closer to God, now is the time to join me and do your inner work. We will all have all the help we need from God.

But WARNING: it takes COURAGE to really look at ourselves. And once we commit to that task, all of our ‘stuff’ (see above) WILL show up. When it does, send it love, say good-bye to it, and let it go. Forgive yourself and others and move forward.  Life is ever so much brighter and happier when the barriers to God’s love come down!

Blessings to all!

Guidance From Yusef: The Nothingness of Silence

Barbara: This one is full of wisdom, and encourages us again to go into silence in order to meet God there. It is counterintuitive to we humans to think of God as being in the “nothingness,” but remember that NOTHINGNESS is EVERYTHING that is.

YUSEF:

In the midst of the noise find silence. It is there—to be sought, cherished, clung to. For in the silence is One and Oneness. In the silence is All, and All’s nothingness. The paradox is that in the no-thingness is All That Is (God).

Greet the nothingness with open arms—embracing the unseen reality. Embrace it. Enter into it willingly, joyfully, dancing with gleeful surrender.

Fall into the lovingness of All That Is (God). Be energized therein to return to the Earth’s human state. Each time you return you will be changed, bringing back a new vibration to enrich Earth.

Do we GO somewhere?

There is no “going” and no “somewhere,” yet in your humanness we recognize the need to understand this.

Indeed the Soul “travels” to that which is beyond human understanding. And yet there is no movement to, or away from. There is merely THERE or IS or BEING. A shift takes place that is a different state of awareness beyond your human consciousness. It is true “communion” with God.

It is in this state we meet you in the fullness of All That Is. Is it here that Soul connects to Soul.

Guidance From Yusef: Reading Books on Spirituality

I am a reader of books—mostly books on spirituality these days. For those of you, like me, who are “fed” by reading, here is a little reminder from Yusef that I got recently. Perhaps it is a reminder for you as well. 🙂

YUSEF:
Reading books may stimulate something within where connections are made, but reading books does not have the same benefit as the experience of the UNION found in SILENCE.

The content of books may be remembered and quoted, but the
experience of COMMUNING WITH GOD MOST HIGH,
where there are no words spoken or remembered,
is of greater benefit than all the books in the world.

There is no comparison.

Read your books if you choose but also make time to experience the PRESENCE OF GOD in silence.

Guidance From Yusef: On Rumi

Barbara: I am sharing part of Richard Rohr’s message for today as he writes about Rumi. Jalal al-Din Rumi was a scholar, theologian, Sufi mystic, and an inspired poet who lived in the 13th century. His works are some of my very favorites. He was also the head of a Dervish Sufi learning community in Turkey. (Sufism is the mystical arm of Islam.)

I was moved and inspired by Rumi’s Dervish Community Purpose that Rohr quotes. Though he lived in the 13th century, I would say that this Purpose, with a small change—I do not “fiercely search for” anything these days—could be mine today in this 21st century:

“To open the heart, to explore the mystery of union, to fiercely search for and try to say truth, and to celebrate the glory and difficulty of being in a human incarnation.”

Guidance From Yusef: On Miracles

Yusef speaks today of miracles. We humans think that a miracle is “…an event not explicable by natural or scientific laws. Such an event may be attributed to a supernatural being (God or gods), a miracle worker, a saint or a religious leader.” (Wikipedia)

Therefore, most of us think that miracles are beyond our reach.  Yusef seems to suggest that the working of what we would term a ‘miracle’ is accessible to all of us. Well, that actually may be true, as quantum physics has indicated, but there is so much more to it.

I think of this post as a nudge from the heavens to expand our thinking. Quite a challenge.

YUSEF:

Miracles, or the miraculous, are the manifestation of potential in the physical. Miracles are the “play” of the Universe on the Earth. They demonstrate the malleability, or impermanence of the configuration of matter.

Miracles appear wondrous because the human mind thinks that matter, things, are in a permanent state that cannot be changed or manipulated. It must appear this way to you at first to ‘secure’ the world for your initial orientation. Yet matter is arranged in permanent form only in the mind that is unwilling to see its potential for re-arrangement.

Now, it is useful to allow some matter to remain in the configuration chosen. However, if the configuration is not beneficial, then SEE IT DIFFERENTLY.

Your mind is the only barrier to the rearranging of matter to a more beneficial state.

The responsibility that accompanies this Knowing is great, thus the movement of matter and the doing of ‘miracles’ also involves more than the human sense and understanding. Miracle working is yours when you can access the sense beyond the senses AND the Love necessary to affect transformation. This involves opening the heart to bring the ‘beyond’ to the Earth.

Guidance From Yusef: On Being Holy

I found this communication, though short, to be interesting. When we think of someone who is ‘holy,’ or close to God, we may picture that person as prayerful, or perhaps even serene. We may assume that they are always peaceful, never angry or frustrated, and always loving toward others. As humans we make assumptions and assign labels in our judgment of others, and so I asked Yusef about what it means to be ‘holy’.

YUSEF:

We are laughing, as you say. What is this term HOLY? What meaning has it? There is no such concept in the Heavens.

The aspect, or aura, of one in CONNECTION to the ALL, one who has transcended the ego, may appear to be different from, or in a different state than others. That could be an accurate assessment. Yet the ‘holy’ label—the assumption that one in communion with the ALL must assume a pose or an action, or behave in predictable ways based on set expectations from those gone before [Saints ?] is absurd. None can know what is transpiring in the human heart or soul.

BE who you are in the Oneness and all else will follow. Let go of the false assumptions and limits of “holy.”

Guidance From Yusef: Sacrifice

This message is a powerful one. It asks us to let go of the currently accepted notion of “sacrifice” that many hold as something of value. I know from my youth I was taught to ‘sacrifice’ my own needs for the needs of others. Yusef asks us to rethink that idea or standard. He tells us that our idea of sacrifice, or denying ourselves, is of the ego and is not of God. You might need to read this one a few times…and make sure you read to the end. 🙂

YUSEF:

Regarding now the idea of “sacrifice.” Beware this very tricky web. There is no such thing in the Heavens.

Sacrifice in the human understanding denies the presence of God, who asks for NO sacrifice. You are beloved ones who have access to all. The idea that you must sacrifice a part of your “all-ness” would leave a gaping hole in the fabric of Heaven. Impossible.

The idea of sacrifice is a construct of the EGO that says you must separate from your Self. It assumes that you would be left wanting or missing something. Again, impossible.

The idea of sacrificing, or giving up what you have been given by God, whether it be your time, your energy, your gifts, or your physical possessions is unthinkable.

Now, if you CHOOSE to give of your time, energy, gifts, or possessions, then it is not sacrifice. It is LOVE.

Reframe the idea of sacrifice. Realize it comes from that which would separate you further from your SELF and each other. God asks no such thing of you. When you can, let go of the concept of ‘sacrificing’ for another person or group. Then you have RECLAIMED the SELF that you are.

Then, and only then, are you able to GIVE FREELY to others and that gift is blessed by the Heavens.
